Ocean Kayak Round Hatch Kit
We have two hatches to pick from. These are installed on a flat surface by cutting a hole big enough for the hatch to fit into. Fits lots of kayaks. Hardware included.
These Round hatches fit on any flat surface. Used on many Ocean Kayak models and many other brand kayak models.
This kit can allow you to retrofit a hatch if your model came with a raised FLAT hump but not an actual hatch. OR a suitable flat area anywhere on your kayak. We have even used these on the float tank chamber of canoes for bow and stern storage.
The 6 inch Cam Lock hatch system was standard on some Ocean Kayak models but can also be installed in the same area you would install an optional 6 inch hatch with cat bag. The easy to open T-handle makes storage in the cavity of your boat quick and easy to access.
Ocean Kayak says the Round Cam-Lock style fits the Big Yak, Caper, Drifter, Frenzy, Mars, Mysto, Peekaboo, Prowler 15, Scupper Pro TW, Venus 10 and Zest Two EXP. We have used these hatches on the Prowler 13 and the Old Town Predator XL. We have used both these hatches on the Heron 9 or Heron 11 that did not come with a hatch on the rear deck (not Heron XT.)
The mounting holes for these hatches are in the same place, aka line up with each other, so it is likely to switch one in place of the other.

The 6 inch Screw-in Hatch with cat bag: the inner opening is about 6", the lid is about 6 3/8", overall size to outer edge of the rim is about 8".
The 6 inch Cam-Lock Hatch: the inner opening is about 5 3/8", the lid is about 5 7/8", overall size to outer edge of the rim is about 8".
